Our Mission… to reward our shareholders, customers, and staff for their trust and confidence…

The primary mission of Hopewell Valley Community Bank is to be a profitable, competitive, and socially conscious community Bank. We believe that by working together as a team, Hopewell Valley Community Bank will become the premier financial institution of choice for business and consumer financial services in the greater Mercer County and surrounding areas. Each and every employee, officer, and director places the highest emphasis on the Bank’s most important asset…its customers. Without customers, the Bank has no purpose in being. We want each of our customers to be so pleased with the service they receive here that they will each become a referral source to others in the community. We are committed to exceeding a reputation for excellence, having a broad-based, meaningful involvement in the community, delivering our products and services with the care and professionalism expected of a community Bank, and measured by our actions, not merely by our words. We seek to be a truly great bank—attractive to our Customers…Employees…Community…Shareholders.

Hopewell Valley Community Bank – Précis

Hopewell Valley Community Bank was chartered during the summer of 1998 under leadership of a prominent local businessman joined by eight influential local residents and a professional banker. This group initiated a community offering of common stock raising more than $5 million by initial offering closing on October 30, 1998. Total capital increased to approximately $7.8 million through an extension of the initial offering period to January 15, 1999.

Hopewell Valley Community Bank opened for business on February 16, 1999, at its present Pennytown branch in the Pennytown Shopping Village at 145 Route 31, Suite 10, in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. The Bank subsequently opened its main office on November 29, 1999, at 4 Route 31 South, Pennington, New Jersey. In 2001, we determined it was time to develop new markets, and we opened our first office outside the Hopewell Valley on November 26, 2001, at 3800 Quakerbridge Road in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

The Bank is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, and its deposits are insured by the FDIC up to legal limits. We serve primarily the communities of Hopewell Township, the Boroughs of Pennington and Hopewell, Hamilton Township, and the surrounding municipalities of Ewing, Lawrence, West Windsor, and Princeton Townships, and Princeton Borough in Mercer County; East and West Amwell Townships and Lambertville City in Hunterdon County; and Montgomery Township and Rocky Hill Borough in Somerset County.

Through the recent wave of bank consolidations in New Jersey, numerous locally based community banks serving the Mercer County, New Jersey, area have been acquired by larger, regional and multi-state institutions, many headquartered outside of the State of New Jersey. The Bank is committed to serving its local community by providing customer access to bank Officers and decision-makers. The Bank believes it is possible to offer its customers access to the latest in banking technology as well as a full line of depository and lending products without sacrificing the highest standards in personalized customer service. In addition, the bank’s Officers and personnel actively participate in the civic, not-for-profit, and charitable organizations which serve the communities in its market.
