PRESS RELEASE

HOPEWELL VALLEY COMMUNITY BANK CHOOSES "19TH CENTURY OLD MAIN STREET" THEME FOR NEWEST BRANCH IN RINGOES

November 22, 2006 – (Ringoes, N.J.) Swinging doors, tin ceilings and distressed leather easy chairs, may not be traditional bank furnishings but they’ll set the stage for the opening of a new local bank in Ringoes. The newest branch of Hopewell Valley Community Bank will be the bank’s first location in Hunterdon County and perhaps the only community bank in the area with an “Old Main Street” style theme and décor.

The theme is part of what president Jim Hyman sees as a need for community banks to embrace the neighborhood and history of the area in their buildings instead of constructing the more traditional “bricks and mortar” square structures favored by mega-banks. The Ringoes area is a rural community rich in farming and history. Our newest office is reminiscent of that history and the people that lived there. It is the site of the former Ringoes Post Office, located next to the Ringoes Country Deli.

“The theme is a great way to create excitement about our newest Ringoes branch,” said Hyman. “The décor is non-traditional, but as a bank, we think of ourselves in a similar manner. We deliver all the technology necessary to bring banking convenience in the busy lifestyle of today, but we really work to make a personal connection with our customers. It’s part of our logo, “we love our customers”. We will deliver the same solid service and personal attention that continues to inspire the confidence and we’ll do it with a warm greeting and a smile.”

The Old Main Street décor will be apparent as first time customers approach the 2,000 square foot bank. The outside façade of the building has been completely changed. A stamped concrete porch will simulate wood planking on a “porch like” step. Inside, the wooden “porch” will be continued on a platform area that features two distressed leather easy chairs that inspired much of the interior design. An old style teller counter featuring custom steel grids with brass accents and authentic oak veneers hearken back to a much earlier time. Swinging doors lead to the safe deposit room while walls are finished with wainscoting and ceilings fashioned in tin tiles.

“It took a lot of thought and planning to create this beautiful façade and interior,” said Hyman. “We hope that it will inspire our customers to have fun while doing their banking here. If that’s the case, it was well worth the extra effort.”

The Ringoes branch of Hopewell Valley Community Bank is located at 1082 Old York Road in Ringoes, N.J. 08551.
